I’m following some hikers along the pct on YouTube. I have to admit that watching their vlogs makes me feel a little bit nervous and anxious as well. Back on the AT I tried to be completely on my own which worked pretty good for me. But I always knew that my friends aren’t too far away. That was kind of an security net. Imagine now being on the PCT seems to be a whole different story. Not in a negative way. But a totall new level which is already expanding my comfort zone. Maybe it’s just my mind going wild right now. So stoked.

And yeah, btw. I do LOVE sunsets so here is one out of my window 😉

Mt. Washington, NH

One aspect of thru-hiking came Never really into my mind. At least I wasn’t aware about it consciously. Until now.
The weight of all your belongings which you will carry on your back is most important for your journey. We have to choose wisely what to bring and checking regularly what you really use, is mandatory. Why? Because you won’t have fun when loaded out or being totallyoverloaded. And where is the point in doing something you don’t love? So now, this is a minimalistic lifestyle you will get used to. Being back in the – so called – civilized society will be absolutely different. You may don’t give a sh** on what’s hip and in and what you have to buy to be cool… you know, all this advertisements everywhere. You may also quit following mainstream media because it doesn’t do good to you. And you realize that most of your stuff is useless and eats of all your energies.

Damascus, Virginia

Hiking in a group can be a very challenging experience. I did enjoy the company of my fellow friends even though i broke free every once in a while to find some quiet moments. Sometimes i just felt overwhelmed and kinda uncomfortable by a certain situation. That was a very interresting feeling. But it also expanded my personal comfortzone a ton! Leaving something you really like, on purpose, makes you greatful for what you had.

@bobogle and i camped out like six miles out of #damascus #virginia. Stayed at that shelter that night. Great talks arround the fire pit and a thunderstorm at night inclusive. . . .

Airbeat One Festival

Travelled around 1200km in the last 24hours with no sleep at all. First stop was the #airbeatone #festival in #northern #germany to get our #entrance #passes. Then we drove up to the #baltiksea to watch the #sunset – bad luck since it was raining… then we drove back down and had a blast listening and dancing to finest #dance and #techno at the #festival… this one is the last track of #arminvanbuuren s set. #anotheryou – loving it. Makes me remembering #newyorkcity where we spent 10 days not hiking the trail last year 😉
